Eat Your Heart Out: Valentine’s Day in Beloit, WI

All you need is love – and really good food.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day weekend with a food tour of Beloit and a stay at Hotel Goodwin. You and your sweetheart will love all the incredible eats around the city, and we can promise a luxurious hotel room where you can relax and recharge.

We put together a sample of what your Valentine’s weekend at Hotel Goodwin would look like. Full of romance, love and, of course, exquisite food.

Friday night

You don’t even need to leave the hotel for a romantic dinner. Make your reservations ahead of time and venture down to Velvet Buffalo Modern Italian for cocktails or wine and indulge in a delectable meal full of fresh seafood, made-from-scratch pastas and house-made desserts. After dinner, take the elevator up to the top floor for a nightcap and the gorgeous view from The Rooftop at Hotel Goodwin.

If you don’t feel like getting all dolled up, you’re going to love in-room dining. Let Velvet Buffalo whip up something for your special weekend and enjoy it from the comfort of your suite while wearing a robe.

Saturday morning

Pop the bottle of champagne from the minibar, add a little OJ and kick off your morning with mimosas in bed before walking across the street to Blue Collar Coffee Co. to grab their special Raspberry Mocha and a warm pastry.

Once you’re good and caffeinated, hop in the car and take the short drive to Bessie’s Diner at the Southern Wisconsin Airport for brunch. Everything on Bessie’s menu is delicious, but their Valentine’s weekend specials are to die for. Red Velvet Waffles, Sweetheart Funnel Cake Fries and Pineapple Strawberry Mimosas? Yes, please!

Saturday afternoon

The only thing better than a brunch coma is a taco and tequila coma. You won’t find a tequila and whiskey selection like the one at truk’t within a 50-mile radius of Beloit. You also won’t be able to find such unique tacos with wordly flavors.

Saturday night

When you stay at Hotel Goodwin, you get Member for a Stay privileges to enjoy the Beloit Club and everything it has to offer. Make your reservations to dine at the Beloit Club or if you went out on Friday night, try in-room dining Saturday night! Velvet Buffalo’s always a good idea.

Sunday morning

If you didn’t have a chance to try Blue Collar’s Raspberry Mocha on Saturday morning (or you loved it and need another), make sure you start your Sunday with that sweet coffee treat.

Our favorite Sundays include brunch, especially Valentine’s Day weekend. Beloit Club’s iconic brunch buffet, complete with a prime rib carving station and omelet station, is a heavenly way to cap off your Valentine’s weekend.

Sunday afternoon/night

Sunday is the perfect day to squeeze in whatever cuisine you didn’t get a chance to sample on the previous days. Or to just take an extra day to soak up all the luxuries of Hotel Goodwin. If you’re planning to stay Sunday night, we recommend stopping by The Rooftop.

Monday

Lucy’s #7 Burger Bar’s Juicy Lucy burgers are the best and they’re offering a couples meal only available on Valentine’s Day! Start your meal with their loaded fries or cheese curds before diving into a stuffed burger or their special Sweetheart Sliders meal for two.

Make a weekend of it and book your Valentine’s stay at Hotel Goodwin February 11-14. You’re centrally located to all the best food in Beloit, making for an ideal home base for you to eat your heart out.
