In October, Geronimo Hospitality Group hosted the inaugural Project Pay it ForWed on The Rooftop at Hotel Goodwin. The event brought together local vendors, hospitality professionals, and community members to gift an all-expenses-paid wedding - valued at over $30,000 - to one deserving local couple.
Selected for their compassion and resilience, Jessica Campbell, a nurse, and Larry Walton, a firefighter, were nominated for their unwavering commitment to others and their devotion to their daughter, who lives with a rare medical condition requiring ongoing treatment and travel.
Their love story is the embodiment of what Pay it ForWed is all about: honoring real people who give everything to their families, communities, and professions, and rarely ask for anything in return.
The October 12, 2025, celebration was made possible through the generosity of local vendors, who ensured every detail, from the catering and cocktails to the flowers, dress and photography, was donated. Geronimo Hospitality Group extends a heartfelt thank-you to the following vendors who helped make this event possible:
Venue: Hotel Goodwin
Catering: Velvet Buffalo Modern Italian
Photography: Til Death Photo Co. & Tori Phillips Photography
Videography: Oakhouse Wedding Films
Florals: Event Floral
DJ: Luxe Productions
Dress: Savy’s Chic
Cake: The Noble Cakery
Hair & Makeup: Alpenglow Artistry
Planning: Capstone Occasions
“From start to finish, Project Pay it ForWed was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when people come together with purpose,” said Jeff Whiteman, COO of Geronimo Hospitality Group. “It was an honor to collaborate with so many talented local vendors to create a heartfelt, meaningful celebration for a couple who truly deserved something special.”
Geronimo Hospitality Group accepted community nominations for the wedding giveaway throughout the summer. A panel of judges reviewed submissions and selected the winning couple based on demonstrated need, as well as their shared commitment to community involvement and giving back. Nominees were required to live within a 60-mile radius of Beloit, Wisconsin, and self-nominations were not accepted.
