Hotel Goodwin to Open Summer 2018
New Beloit hotel announces opening, general manager and rooftop space

BELOIT, WI – Geronimo Hospitality Group (GHG) is set to open their newest boutique hotel, Hotel Goodwin, this summer. Located across the street from the GHG-owned Ironworks Hotel Beloit and Merrill & Houston’s Steak Joint, the property will feature a tapas and woodfire pizza restaurant, Velvet Buffalo Cafe, and a rooftop space overlooking downtown Beloit. Hotel Goodwin will be run under general manager Karen Niffenegger and area general manager Stephanie Ashley-Hoppe.
Niffenegger hails from Ironworks Hotel Beloit as the director of rooms, a position she held since August 2014. Ashley-Hoppe is the general manager at Ironworks and will serve as area general manager over both Hotel Goodwin and Ironworks while maintaining her current position.
“I am beyond excited to introduce Hotel Goodwin to everyone. It is classic and alluring, yet playful. Aside from the impeccable service, the hotel will be known for its edginess and intrigue,” says Niffenegger.
The rooftop space at the hotel will be perfect for business meetings, rehearsal dinners and other group gatherings, and will offer select food and drink from Velvet Buffalo Cafe. As the only rooftop space in the Beloit area, this will be a highly sought-after attraction.
“We are thrilled to bring Hotel Goodwin and Velvet Buffalo Cafe to downtown Beloit,” says Jonathan Webster, vice president of lodging at GHG. “By providing another upscale boutique offering in downtown Beloit, we hope to provide unique options for visitors to our community and continue the transformation of downtown into a thriving area with restaurants, shopping, entertainment and charm.”
